Tina Berry is Operations Director of the Oncology and Breast Services at SIH in Southern Illinois.
I always had a love for science and technology. This continued as I started my educational path, which brought me to SIU in Carbondale for the Radiologic Science program. I knew early on that I wanted leadership in my career.
After, my observations of specialty choices my program offered, I ventured into radiation oncology. I was fortunate to acquire my clinical rotations at Siteman Cancer Center in St. Louis, where later I would accept my first role in radiation oncology, advancing to supervisor of brachytherapy post completion of my MBA.
I was offered a manager role at Saint Francis in Cape Girardeau, which allowed me to further my career goals and bring my children closer to family. There I was able to broaden my scope to Medical Oncology. This allowed me to become a more rounded leader to see the full circle our oncology patients navigate through out their care path, while working closely to the infusion manager.
SIH had an opening for the assistant director role and I thought it was the next step in my career. The role has allowed me to grow in my roots of imaging.
