In my role as Director of Radiation Therapy at Emory Winship Cancer Institute, I have responsibility for the radiation therapy teams for each radiation oncology practice. During my career, quality, safety, and training have been the primary focus. The focus on quality directed me down the path of creating an in-house quality reporting database, collaboration with vendors to develop patient positioning devices; studying and applying Six sigma and Lean concepts for process improvement and workflow standardization.
I have been fortunate to share my work during SROA annual meetings in 2011 and 2020. I was also a member of the SROA Best Practice committee. Quality is my true north; providing the care as patients, and except to receive, when they trust us to address their healthcare needs.
