As the Billing Operations Manager for Department of Radiation Oncology at the University of California Davis Health Comprehensive Cancer Center, I find that growth in our field of practice comes with outreach to other Radiation Oncology facilities and learning from other administrators in our field. SROA provides me with the foundation and resources I need to grow in my job as an administrator. Radiation Oncology is very different from other specialties, and I find that SROA provides me with everything I need to connect with other members, and to stay up to date with the latest in billing trends and coding trends. Connecting with other administrators provides me with the information and resources necessary to help me accomplish the job I was hired to do, as well as to serve as a resource for my facility. I have worked in Radiation Oncology for twenty five plus years; and have been a member of the society since 2002.
For the past 10+ years I have served the membership by participating on many committees, special Interest groups and forums. My specialty lies in billing and coding, revenue cycle management, payer trends, and patient cost analysis. I have enjoyed serving our membership as a member of the SROA Board of Directors having served as Member-at-Large, President-elect, and now society President. I believe that as members of SROA it is our responsibility to bring up the next generation of administrators in our field, to encourage new members and to insure we provide all our members with resources for growth and succession in the field of radiation oncology. Our new members are our future, it is to our benefit as a society to help them reach their full potential as they prepare to pick up where we leave off.
On a more personal level, I enjoy gardening, I am passionate about succulents. My husband and I enjoy spending time with our two grandsons. As a green commuter I am fortunate to live just 2.3 miles from my facility and enjoy walking to and from work every day.
